Nika Feeney brings more than a decade of litigation and pro bono experience to Caffrey Hill. She began her career as a litigation associate in the Philadelphia and Chicago offices of DLA Piper. While at DLA, Nika focused on general commercial disputes between global corporate entities, the enforcement of restrictive covenants by franchisors, the defense of consumer and securities class actions, and accounting malpractice matters. She also counseled institutional and individual clients on regulatory matters, conducting sensitive internal investigations into allegations of fraud, embezzlement and other wrongdoing.

Nika was also heavily involved in DLA’s globally recognized pro bono program, notably including work on behalf of a class of inmates at an Illinois “Super Max” prison asserting civil rights violations under Section 1983 (42 U.S.C. §1983).

Following her successful tenure at DLA, Nika joined business law firm Patzik, Frank & Samotny Ltd., where she represented mid-market corporate clients in complex disputes and advised employers on issues including the legal implications of proposed personnel decisions and risk management training programs designed to promote compliance with internal best practices and regulatory mandates.

After a period in which she stepped away from private practice to focus on raising her family, Nika returned to practice as a pro bono attorney, assisting individuals living below the poverty line. Her work has included end-of-life planning for seniors, navigating lawful citizenship status for immigrants, and petitioning for the expungement of non-violent offenses. Through this advocacy, Nika discovered her true professional calling in counseling, problem solving and helping people navigate challenging circumstances.

Nika earned her mediation certification at Northwestern University’s Pritzker School of Law in 2024. In this evolution of her practice, she focuses on mediating family law matters, using a facilitative approach informed by her rigorous litigation background. Nika remains a steadfast advocate for communities and underserved individuals, continuing her pro bono work alongside her mediation and litigation practices at Caffrey Hill.
